COVID-19

How are you ensuring participant safety against COVID-19?

Run.Jump.LEAD! is committed to the health and safety of all of our participants, coaches and volunteers.  We follow guidance in accordance to local and provincial public health agencies, as well as specific facility protocols as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In order to protect our participants, staff and the community, Run.Jump.LEAD! has implemented measures in accordance to guidance provided by AHS and Facility Providers.

Participant families will receive detailed guidance prior to their session start date. Please note that protocols may slightly differ based on our facility locations and current AHS Guidelines. Thank you for your patience and flexibility.

SCREENING AND HEALTH CHECKS

All participants must review the COVID-19 Alberta Health Daily Checklist prior to participating in each class.  If an individual answers “YES” to any of the questions on the checklist, they will be asked to stay home and follow all recommend health measures before returning to class. Please click here to see the most updated version of the COVID-19 Alberta Health Daily Checklist.

If a participant develops symptoms during a class, they will be asked to immediately put their mask on, practice hand hygiene and will be moved to an isolated area of the facility with a coach or volunteer. A parent/guardian will be notified to immediately pick up the participant. Once an individual has been removed from the class, a team member will clean and disinfect all surfaces and areas that the individual may have come into contact with.

Prompt cooperation to pick up the participant is expected and greatly appreciated. Please not that there will not be any credits or refunds issued due to missed classes due to illness.

Any Run.Jump.LEAD! staff member, coach or volunteer must be screened prior to each class. If a member of our team experiences the onset of symptoms during a class, they will be requested to immediately leave the facility to an isolated space until they have made safe arrangements to return home.  A team member will clean and disinfect all surfaces and areas that the individual may have come into contact with and the individual will be followed up with to ensure they complete an AHS Self-Assessment for follow up action.

Due to the recent change in Provincial health guidelines, it is now optional to wear a face mask during our programs. Run.Jump.LEAD! will continuously revisit our mask policy which may be revised when new information becomes available.

DISTANCING AND GROUP CAPACITY LIMITS

Participants are asked to arrive no more than 5 minutes before their class. Please practice physical distancing (2m) between family cohorts while waiting for classes to begin and during class pickup. Each class will have a minimum of 2 coaches so that the participant to coach ratio remains low at 6:1.

There will be no in-person viewing during the classes at this time.

ENHANCED CLEANING AND HYGIENE MEASURES

Individuals will be asked to sanitize their hands before entering the facility and periodically during the class (i.e. before and after the use of materials and/or equipment). Run. Jump. LEAD! only uses hand sanitizer that has been approved by Health Canada.

Participants are asked to NOT bring their own equipment due to health and safety protocols. Any equipment used will be promptly and properly cleaned and sanitized after each class using a Health Canada approved disinfecting agent.

Please note that Run.Jump.LEAD! is responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of our own equipment and specific gymnasium space. This DOES NOT include common areas, hallways, foyers, washrooms and staircases in the greater facility (i.e. recreation centre or community centre).

Participants will be asked to only bring what is needed to each class (small backpack or tote containing labeled items such as water bottles, indoor running shoes and extra layers of clothing if needed).

NOTIFICATION OF A CONFRIMED CASE OF COVID-19

If Run.Jump.LEAD! is notified of a confirmed COVID-19 case in one of our classes (participant or coach), we will follow all AHS recommended guidelines including the cleaning and sanitization of all equipment or materials. Please refer to current AHS guidelines in regards to contact tracing and notification.

Run.Jump.LEAD! will keep a record of all individuals participating in our classes should contact tracing be necessary and will be respectful of the privacy and sensitivity of every participant’s personal health information at all times, and comply with relevant requirements set out in Alberta’s Health Information Act.

Cancellation policies for Run.Jump.LEAD!

CANCELLATIONS AND MAKE-UP CLASSES

Run.Jump.LEAD! is committed to the health and safety of all of our participants, coaches and volunteers. We are actively monitoring and following the guidance of AHS and the Government of Alberta as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic. This may lead to decisions that impact our programs, including delays and cancellations.

In the event that a program cancellation occurs that is initiated by Run.Jump.LEAD! due to COVID-19 prior to a session start date, a full refund will be issued. If a delay or cancellation occurs after a session has started, a prorated refund (minus credit card and swag/t-shirt fees) will be issued for classes not attended. We do not offer a virtual option for our program.

If a parent/guardian wishes to withdraw a participant, 14 days written notice prior to the program start date is required for a full refund, minus a $15 administration fee.  No refunds will be issued for cancellations made with less than 14 days notice of the program start date.

Please not that there will not be any credits or refunds issued due to missed classes due to illness or otherwise.
